South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron, best known for her role in the 2023 Netflix series Bloodhounds, was found dead at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on Sunday.
The 24-year-old actress was discovered by a friend who was scheduled to meet her.
Police reported, “We have not found any signs of foul play as of yet, but we are investigating the circumstances of the death.”
Kim’s passing comes after a period of withdrawal from the public eye following a drunk driving incident in May 2022, where she crashed her car into a roadside electrical transformer box.
According to the South China Morning Post, she was fined 20 million Korean won (approximately Rs3,857,658) for the incident, which caused widespread public criticism and led to her stepping away from her role in the drama series Trolley.
Despite attempting a comeback last year, Kim ultimately stepped back again due to health concerns, as reported by Yonhap News Agency.
Throughout her career, Kim Sae-ron earned significant accolades, including the “Best New Actress” title at multiple Korean arts awards, as highlighted on her IMDb profile.
