KARACHI: A professor from Karachi has successfully created an eco-friendly cement that significantly reduces carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional options.
This innovation is not only environmentally sustainable but also highly cost-effective.
After eight years of research, Professor Tariq Jamil from NED University has unveiled this groundbreaking cement, capable of cutting carbon dioxide emissions by up to 40%.
“This new material is 25% cheaper and ten times more durable than traditional cement,” stated Dr. Tariq Jamil, a material scientist at NED University.
Buildings made with this sustainable cement will offer improved energy efficiency by staying cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
Furthermore, structures in coastal areas will benefit from enhanced resistance to rusting in steel reinforcements, making them more durable over time.
