ISLAMABAD: Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has claimed that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will become the countryโs prime minister within a year or two.
Addressing a public gathering in Pindi Gheb, Governor Haider praised the PPP, asserting that no other party compares. He criticized rival political parties for their arrogance, stating that even ministers and assembly members exhibit an air of superiority.
โI will always stand with the people on issues concerning their rights,โ he declared, adding that the entire nation supports the Pakistan Army in its fight against terrorism. He paid tribute to the armed forces and security personnel for their sacrifices, reaffirming the PPPโs unwavering support for national institutions.
Haider emphasized Pakistanโs strategic importance as the only nuclear power in the Muslim world, stating that the country faces threats from all sides but remains strong due to its military.
While he refrains from seeking funds for minor projects, the governor assured that once Bilawal Bhutto assumes office as prime minister, increased development funds would be allocated to Attock, which he claimed has long been neglected in terms of infrastructure projects. He also acknowledged the contributions of Attockโs youth in the military, highlighting their sacrifices for the nation.
A month ago, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari openly criticized the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led federal government for making unilateral decisions without consulting political allies. Speaking at an event in the federal capital, he underscored the need for consensus-based policymaking, arguing that Pakistanโs political system thrives when the government listens to the public and collaborates with key stakeholders.
โWhenever the government makes decisions without consulting its allies or considering the publicโs wishes, it ends up complicating the situation for itself,โ Bilawal warned.
