ISLAMABAD: The Punjab Education Department has confirmed that the 2025-26 academic year will begin on April 1.
The annual exams for the current academic year (2024-25) are set to take place from March 10 to March 20 across over 42,000 government schools in Punjab, with more than 6.5 million students expected to participate.
Results will be announced in the last week of March.
Significant changes have been introduced to the examination format for matriculation students, including an update from the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board. The new policy raises the total marks for Islamic Studies and Pakistan Studies from 50 to 100 each.
Islamic Studies will now be tested in ninth grade, while Pakistan Studies will be assessed in tenth grade. The PTBB has already released updated textbooks reflecting the revised syllabus and begun the printing process.
