The government has announced an increase in petrol and diesel prices for the upcoming fortnight, effective from January 16.
The price of petrol has been raised by Rs3.47, bringing it to Rs256.13 per litre, while diesel prices have been increased by Rs2.61, making it Rs260.95 per litre.
According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the price hike was made following the recommendation of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). The increase was attributed to fluctuations in international oil prices.
The new prices will remain in effect for the next fortnight.
