The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to observe February 8, the one-year anniversary of the general elections, as a “Black Day” with protests planned across the country, according to party sources.
Imran Khan, the founder of PTI, has instructed all party lawmakers, including MNAs and MPAs, to organize and participate in demonstrations within their constituencies on this date to voice their grievances.
During a recent meeting with legal advisors on Wednesday, Imran Khan expressed his dissatisfaction with the performance of PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram. The meeting also highlighted the importance of maintaining party discipline, with specific directives issued to avoid making public statements against JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
In addition, PTI has been urged to reach out to opposition leaders for their support in the upcoming protests. Insiders revealed that Khan has stressed the need for effective coordination and mobilization to ensure a strong and unified demonstration on February 8.
