ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted a reduction in cold weather intensity from today until January 12.
Currently, many cities in Pakistan remain under the influence of cold winds, with the temperature recorded at 10°C this morning. In Karachi, the minimum temperature of 8.5°C was recorded late last night, marking another chilly evening for residents.
Weather Details:
- Current Temperature: 10°C (cold and humid conditions).
- Expected Maximum Temperature: Up to 26°C.
- Humidity Levels: 76%.
- Wind Speed: Northeastern winds blowing at 7 km/h.
Despite the easing cold, Karachi continues to face hazardous air quality. The city is ranked eighth among the world’s most polluted cities, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 173, indicating dangerous levels of particulate matter in the air.
While the cold weather may gradually subside, residents are urged to take precautions due to poor air quality, which poses health risks, especially for vulnerable groups.
