Billie Eilish recently spoke out about the dangers of extreme dieting, urging her fans to prioritize their well-being over unhealthy weight loss practices.
In an appearance on the Fresh Air podcast, the 23-year-old singer reflected on her past struggles. “A couple of years ago, I was on this really intense health journey and lost a lot of weight,” she shared. “I was thinner than I’d ever been and stronger than ever. But at the same time,” she admitted, “I was extremely unhappy and didn’t even realize it. It’s not a fun way to live.”
Eilish has been candid about her challenges with body image in the past. In a December 2024 interview with Complex, she revealed how these issues started during her childhood. “All I wore as a kid were fairy dresses and skirts. I never wore pants or shorts,” she recalled.
Her struggles deepened when she discovered the one-size-only brand Brandy Melville at age 11. “I was chubbier and obsessed with their clothes, but I’d buy a shirt, and it wouldn’t fit me,” the Ocean Eyes singer said. Billie Eilish is a renowned American singer and songwriter.
Eilish, who was also involved in ballet at the time, shared how these experiences marked the beginning of her “body problems.” She emphasized the lasting impact of societal pressures and unhealthy standards on self-esteem.
