MrBeast posted a series of joyful photos from the proposal, showing the couple in matching MrBeast-branded Christmas sweaters, standing by a festive tree surrounded by loved ones. “Ya boy did a thing,” he captioned the pictures, capturing the warmth and happiness of the moment.
Thea, originally from South Africa, also shared her own heartfelt video on social media, proudly showing off her engagement ring while sitting on MrBeast’s lap, with their dog joining the celebration. In an interview with People, Thea revealed that her family had flown in from South Africa to spend Christmas with them. “We were opening presents, and then for the very last present, he asked me to close my eyes because it was a surprise,” she said.
MrBeast added a playful touch to the proposal, saying he dropped a large box to make noise before presenting the real gift — the engagement ring. He then got down on one knee to propose.
The couple’s connection grew stronger after meeting in 2022 during MrBeast’s visit to South Africa. Their shared interest in science and YouTube led to a deeper bond, and MrBeast later expressed interest in reading Thea’s book. Reflecting on their relationship, Thea shared, “I fell in love with his brain. To me, that’s everything — your brain, your drive, your discipline, your character, that’s everything to me.”
