He reaffirmed that any hostile actions against Pakistan would be met with a defensive response. The Prime Minister stressed that the nuclear program belonged to the people of Pakistan, and the government would steadfastly protect it.

PTI-Government Talks Update

The Prime Minister also provided an update on ongoing negotiations with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He confirmed that the first session of talks had been held, and the next meeting would take place on January 2. Sharif emphasized that national interests should always take precedence over personal ones, underscoring the importance of collaboration for the country’s future.

Commitment to Ending Terrorism

Addressing the recent uptick in terrorism across the country, Prime Minister Sharif extended his condolences for the 17 lives lost in a recent attack by Kharijite militants. He prayed for the martyrs and praised the swift response by security forces, who neutralized eight terrorists involved in the attack. The Prime Minister lauded the efforts of Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, who visited Wana to boost the morale of the forces.

He assured the nation that the government, in coordination with provincial authorities, was taking decisive action to combat terrorism and would not rest until it was completely eliminated.

Condemnation of Parachinar Killings

PM Shehbaz Sharif also expressed his sorrow over the recent sectarian violence in Parachinar, which led to significant loss of life. He condemned the attack and criticized the diversion of resources and attention from Parachinar, which should have been focused on addressing local security challenges. Sharif reaffirmed his commitment to tackling terrorism in all its forms and ensuring the safety and security of the people of Pakistan.
