The Pakistan Army and the People’s Liberation Army of China successfully concluded their three-week joint military exercise, Warrior-VIII, on December 11, 2024, with a focus on counter-terrorism operations. This annual exercise, which marked its eighth edition this year, is part of the longstanding bilateral military cooperation between the two countries.
The event wrapped up with a Distinguished Visitors’ Day (DVD) ceremony held on December 10 at the Tilla Field Firing Range, attended by senior officials from both nations. Lieutenant General Shahid Imtiaz, Commander of the Rawalpindi Corps, served as the chief guest, while the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan and other dignitaries were also present.
During the ceremony, the troops were commended for their professionalism and successful completion of complex training objectives. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) noted that Warrior-VIII underscores the strengthening defense ties between Pakistan and China, reflecting their shared commitment to regional stability and counter-terrorism efforts.
COAS Congratulates Pakistan Army Team for Gold in ‘Exercise Cambrian Patrol’
General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), met with the Pakistan Army team that secured the prestigious gold medal in the “Exercise Cambrian Patrol,” held in the United Kingdom from October 4 to 13, 2024. The Cambrian Patrol, one of the toughest military exercises globally, saw 143 teams participate, with the Pakistan Army contingent standing out for its exceptional skill and resilience.
This victory marks the sixth time the Pakistan Army has earned the gold medal in this demanding event, which takes place in the mountainous terrain of mid-Wales. The exercise tests participants on physical endurance, tactical skills, and mental fortitude, emphasizing teamwork, leadership, and courage under extreme conditions.
The COAS praised the team for their remarkable performance and for proudly representing Pakistan on the international stage. This achievement further solidifies the Pakistan Army’s reputation for excellence in global military competitions.
