China has urged Pakistan to implement targeted security measures to safeguard Chinese nationals and projects operating within the country. During a media briefing, Yang Yundong, China’s Consul General in Karachi, stressed the need for a secure environment to ensure the smooth continuation of bilateral cooperation.
Yang reaffirmed China’s support for Pakistan in combating terrorism, emphasizing that the safety of Chinese personnel is essential for the success of collaborative initiatives. Under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), both nations aim to deepen cooperation in healthcare, agriculture, education, and disaster prevention to enhance regional livelihoods.
Highlighting the enduring strength of the China-Pakistan partnership, which he described as having “strategic significance,” Yang expressed confidence that efforts to disrupt this collaboration would not succeed. He also highlighted key projects like the Karachi-Hyderabad railway upgrade and Gwadar Port developments, both pivotal for connectivity and economic progress.
In celebrating the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, Yang reflected on the nation’s rapid economic growth and peaceful development goals. He concluded by advocating for stronger media cooperation to foster understanding and strengthen bilateral relations.
