Govt makes biometric verification mandatory at the airports for security purposes

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced a major initiative to bolster security by mandating biometric verification for all international passengers at airports nationwide.

This measure will require biometric machines to be installed at international immigration counters, where travelers must complete verification before boarding.

The Interior Ministry highlighted that this technology will be transformative in preventing wanted suspects from entering or leaving the country.

Officials from the ministry stated that biometric screening will enhance passenger screening efficiency and aligns with international security standards.

The Interior Ministry has instructed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to expedite the implementation of these changes.
