PM Shehbaz
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to enhancing bilateral relations with Qatar during his official two-day visit to the Gulf nation.
The visit included high-level discussions with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
During the visit, PM Shehbaz engaged in delegation-level talks with the Emir, followed by a personal meeting in Doha, where they addressed a wide range of mutual interests.
According to Radio Pakistan, both leaders expressed a commitment to deepen strategic ties, emphasizing the significance of shared economic goals and regional stability.
They conducted a thorough review of the Pakistan-Qatar relationship, exploring opportunities for increased cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, energy, and cultural exchange.
One of the notable aspects of PM Shehbaz’s discussions was Qatar’s supportive stance on the Palestinian issue, which the Emir articulated during the 79th United Nations General Assembly held in late September.
PM Shehbaz praised Qatar’s mediation efforts aimed at achieving an immediate ceasefire and ensuring the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid.
In addition to meeting with the Emir, PM Shehbaz also had a productive dialogue with his Qatari counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
The two leaders focused on further strengthening their bilateral relations, particularly in areas such as trade, investment, and cultural exchange. PM Shehbaz expressed gratitude for Qatar’s contributions to Pakistan’s economic development and the ongoing support it provides across various sectors.
Highlighting the importance of the Pakistani diaspora in Qatar, PM Shehbaz thanked his Qatari counterpart for hosting a substantial number of Pakistani citizens, who act as a vital link between the two countries.
The discussions also extended to global and regional issues, where both leaders emphasized the need for peaceful resolutions and collaboration to tackle ongoing challenges.
Sheikh Mohammed underscored Pakistan’s strategic importance in the region and conveyed his enthusiasm for bolstering ties with Islamabad, aligning with Qatar’s vision for economic growth and stability.
Both leaders recognized the necessity of maintaining high-level exchanges to enhance mutual understanding, foster cooperation, and identify new opportunities for growth.
In a bid to attract investment, PM Shehbaz invited Qatari investors to explore Pakistan’s diverse economic sectors, including agriculture, information technology, and tourism.
He assured that the Pakistani government is committed to providing a conducive environment for foreign investments and discussed potential incentives to facilitate investor entry into the Pakistani market.
Expressing appreciation for the warm hospitality received during his visit, PM Shehbaz emphasized that this trip would further solidify the longstanding friendship, mutual respect, and cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar, ultimately benefiting both nations.
