Renowned French-Swiss pianist Joanna Goodale delivered a breathtaking performance at Lahore’s Alhamra Arts Council, enchanting the audience with her seamless fusion of Western classical music and Eastern sacred melodies. Co-presented by Alliance Française de Lahore, Annemarie Schimmel Haus, and the Alhamra Arts Council, the recital brought together music enthusiasts from across the city to witness Goodale’s unique musical journey.
A highlight of the evening was Goodale’s heartfelt tribute to Pakistan’s iconic Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Performing a mesmerizing rendition of his famous qawwali pieces ‘Ali Mola Ali’ and ‘Dam Mast Qalandar,’ Goodale infused the raw power of Pakistani qawwali with the refined elegance of Western classical music.
