PCB addresses Ramiz Raja’s ‘inappropriate questions’ directed at Shan Masood

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has raised concerns over “inappropriate questions” posed by commentator Ramiz Raja to national Test captain Shan Masood after the team secured a series victory at home for the first time in three years.

Sources indicate that the board has decided to exclude the former cricketer from the commentary panel. Pakistan achieved a notable Test series win by defeating England by nine wickets, thanks to a stellar performance from spinners Noman Ali and Sajid Khan.

Noman and Sajid claimed all 10 England wickets, dismissing the visitors for just 112 runs, leading to a swift victory in Rawalpindi before lunch on the third day of the third Test. This marked Pakistan’s first home Test series win since their triumph over South Africa in February 2021.

After the match, Masood participated in a post-match interview with Raja and fellow commentator Zainab Abbas.

During the exchange, Raja questioned him about the team’s six consecutive losses, asking, “How did you achieve these six losses in a row?” Masood remained composed, responding that the team and the nation needed this victory.

“I am really happy,” he stated, assuring Raja he would focus on improving his shot selection.

In response to Raja’s comments, the PCB has formally expressed its concerns to the broadcasting company, emphasizing the importance of maintaining “more respectful dialogue” during commentary.

A clip of the interaction has since gone viral on social media, drawing criticism from fans and users who disapproved of Raja’s remarks.
