Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is embarking on a new chapter in Tokyo but isnโt putting down permanent roots, according to music journalist Tourรฉ.
In an interview with TMZ, Tourรฉ revealed that Ye is focused on self-producing his upcoming album, Bully, from a hotel room in the Japanese capital.
Despite spending considerable time in Tokyo, Ye hasnโt bought property, opting instead for hotel living. Tourรฉ describes him as โupper-class homeless,โ enjoying the benefits of hotel life without the responsibilities of homeownership.
Yeโs choice to stay in Tokyo is largely attributed to the privacy he experiences there. Unlike in Los Angeles, where he is often hounded by paparazzi, he finds that locals in Tokyo are respectful and mostly leave him alone, allowing him to explore the city without the need for an entourage.
Throughout his career, Ye has embraced a nomadic lifestyle, living in various places like Wyoming, Malibu, and Chicago. His frequent relocations have reportedly added strain to his marriage with Kim Kardashian, who voiced concerns about his tendency to live apart from her and their children.
Ye previously made headlines for purchasing a Malibu mansion for $57 million, only to later gut the property for a bomb shelter project that he eventually abandoned. It seems that for now, he is satisfied with his current โhomelessโ lifestyle, relishing the freedom it provides.
