Train services from Quetta have been reinstated following a 45-day suspension

The suspension of train services led to daily losses of Rs1.5 million for the department. However, operations from Quetta to the rest of the country have now been successfully restored after a 45-day hiatus.

According to Imran Hayat, the divisional superintendent of Railways, the Jaffar Express, consisting of nine bogies, departed for Peshawar with 315 passengers on board, signaling the resumption of services.

Train operations were halted following the destruction of a railway bridge at Dozan by terrorists. The Pakistan Railways team managed to repair the damaged bridge in just a month and a half.

In addition to the Jaffar Express, the Bolan Mail from Karachi is also set to depart for Quetta today. Authorities have assured that comprehensive security measures are in place to ensure passenger safety.

The train service suspension resulted in substantial losses for the department, amounting to Rs1.5 million each day.

On August 26, terrorists executed coordinated attacks on civilians and government properties across multiple districts in Balochistan, damaging infrastructure including a British-era bridge between the Kolpur and Dozan railway stations in Bolan.

As a result of the explosion, train operations between Quetta and Sibi were halted, affecting key services such as the Jaffar Express, Bolan Mail, and Chaman passenger train.
