Hezbollah has confirmed that its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, was killed in an Israeli strike in Beirut

Hezbollah has confirmed the death of its leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, following an Israeli airstrike in Beirut, vowing to persist in its struggle against Israel. This attack, which took place in the southern suburbs of Beirut, represents a significant setback for the group amid an ongoing escalation of Israeli assaults.

Israeli forces announced they had targeted Nasrallah in a “targeted strike” on the group’s underground headquarters, claiming he was killed alongside other senior commanders, including Ali Karaki. The military stated that the operation aimed to thwart ongoing Hezbollah activities against Israel.

“Hassan Nasrallah will no longer be able to terrorize the world,” stated Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee. The confirmation of Nasrallah’s death comes amidst continuous airstrikes on Beirut, where residents reported multiple powerful blasts that left substantial destruction.

Following the strikes, thousands have fled the affected areas, seeking refuge in public spaces around downtown Beirut. Many residents expressed fear for their safety, with reports of significant displacement in the region.

In addition to targeting Hezbollah in Beirut, the Israeli military has also conducted strikes in the Bekaa Valley and other locations, killing additional commanders. As the conflict intensifies, the situation remains fluid, with rising casualties and concerns about further escalation.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserted the nation’s right to continue its military campaign, emphasizing that the operations aim to protect Israeli citizens. The conflict, now intertwined with broader regional tensions, has prompted widespread concern about its potential expansion.
