hunting of ducks, known as murghabi, has been officially banned

The district administration of Peshawar has implemented an immediate ban on the hunting of ducks and geese (murghabi), which will remain in effect until November 2024.

This measure aims to protect these birds during their migration season and to preserve their populations from potential threats.

In an official announcement, the administration specified that not only is hunting prohibited, but so is the trading and transportation of these birds.

This decision is part of broader efforts to safeguard wildlife and promote sustainable ecological practices in the region.

Officials have emphasized the importance of this ban in ensuring the long-term health of local ecosystems.

They have also warned that strict legal consequences will follow for anyone caught violating these regulations. This proactive stance reflects a commitment to environmental conservation and the preservation of biodiversity in Peshawar.
