At least 15 people were injured in a powerful explosion that shook the City Police Station in Swabi District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, causing the roof to collapse.
Following the blast, rescue teams and ambulances quickly arrived on the scene. Social media videos captured people carrying the injured away as flames erupted from the police station.
The explosion not only resulted in numerous injuries but also led to the destruction of barracks, with several individuals trapped beneath the debris.
Initially, rescue sources reported eight injuries, including two critically wounded individuals who were transported to the hospital. Firefighters managed to bring the flames under control.
Later, Rescue spokesperson Bilal Fayyaz confirmed that the number of injured had increased to 15. Police are currently investigating the cause of the explosion, with initial reports indicating that the blast originated from the kotwali on the second floor of the Swabi police station.
