Pakistan’s JF-17 successfully conducted air-to-air refueling with a PAF Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft, completing a single hop to Baku, Azerbaijan, and showcasing the long-range capability of the PAF’s fighter jet.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that during his recent visit to Pakistan, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev was briefed on the combat capabilities and versatile applications of the JF-17 Block III fighter aircraft.
Following President Aliyev’s visit and at the request of the Azerbaijani government, Pakistan deployed a PAF contingent to Baku for ADEX-2024, highlighting the aerial prowess and static display of the JF-17 Thunder Block III.
“President Aliyev toured the static display of the JF-17 Block III and later witnessed an impressive aerial demonstration, showcasing the fighter jet’s agility and maneuverability, along with the professional skill of PAF pilots,” the ISPR noted. “The JF-17 Thunder Block III is a 4.5 generation multi-role fighter equipped with AESA radar and long-range BVR capabilities, capable of executing a wide range of combat missions, thereby enhancing Azerbaijan’s national security framework.”
President Aliyev expressed that Pakistan’s support would significantly strengthen military cooperation between the two nations, fostering closer defense collaboration and reinforcing the strong brotherly ties shared by Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
