Federal Minister of Investment Board, Communications, and Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan addressed the Global Transport Forum 2024 in China, highlighting the mutual benefits of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) for both nations.
He noted that Pakistan is grappling with the challenges of a growing urban population and stressed that “CPEC trade corridors are built on green energy and clean technology.”
Khan emphasized the significance of public-private partnerships and green technology in enhancing transportation systems. He pointed out that improving transportation must prioritize citizen safety.
During his address, he reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to developing highways and ports to meet future demands, aiming to boost economic growth and create job opportunities. He also remarked that advancements in communication systems not only foster economic development but also enrich culture and society.
Additionally, he expressed his support for public-private partnerships and the integration of green technology in the communications sector.
President Asif Ali Zardari also participated in the forum via a virtual address.
