Nationwide celebrations commemorate 12th Rabi ul Awal across Pakistan

Pakistan is alive with celebrations as it observes Eid Milad un Nabi, commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on Tuesday.

As Muslims around the world celebrate this occasion on the 12th of Rabi ul Awal, Pakistan stands out with its brightly lit streets and buildings, predominantly adorned with green lights in honor of the day.

On this special occasion, Muslims participate in processions, milad gatherings, and prayer ceremonies. The Karachi Traffic Police have also announced a traffic diversion plan for three processions scheduled earlier in the day on MA Jinnah Road, which will be closed for the event.

Joining in the nationwide festivities, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings in their messages to the nation.

President Asif Ali Zardari’s Message
The president called on the nation and the Muslim Ummah to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as a “guiding light” to navigate current challenges. In his message for the 12th Rabi ul Awal, 1446, Zardari congratulated the nation on the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) birth anniversary, noting that “Allah Almighty set the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) life as a role model for every aspect of life.”

He highlighted the Prophet’s (PBUH) establishment of a just society, where everyone could live with dignity, regardless of their wealth or social status. The president emphasized that the Prophet’s teachings advocate speaking out against oppression and supporting the marginalized as key aspects of faith.

“In a world marked by division and oppression, it is crucial to spread the message of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who exemplified love, tolerance, and human rights. He treated all individuals, regardless of faith, with respect and dignity. We must embrace this spirit to promote global brotherhood, justice, and love,” Zardari remarked.

He asserted that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) will always serve as a source of guidance and urged the nation to share his message of love and compassion, highlighting the importance of caring for the vulnerable and serving humanity.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Message
In his message for Eid Milad un Nabi, PM Shehbaz Sharif stated that “the solution to the challenges facing the Muslim Ummah and Pakistan lies in the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).”

He called for unity and a collective effort for the nation’s development, asserting that the 12th of Rabi ul Awal is a blessed day when Allah bestowed perfect guidance upon humanity. The prime minister described the life and character of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as a “torch of guidance.”

Shehbaz remarked, “Every act and decree of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) illustrates how humanity can be guided towards development based on love, tolerance, and justice.” He emphasized the need to study the Prophet’s (PBUH) biography, noting that the solutions to today’s challenges lie within his teachings.

The prime minister highlighted the importance of helping the weak, orphans, and the needy, urging attention to those suffering from poverty and hardship. He also expressed solidarity with the oppressed in Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), condemning ongoing human rights violations in these regions.

“On this occasion, let us remember our brothers and sisters in Palestine and Kashmir, who are enduring heartbreaking atrocities. It is our duty to raise our voices in support of the oppressed and advocate for their freedom and justice,” he stated.
