Bollywood actor Imran Khan, who has been absent from the screen for several years, is set to make a return with a romantic comedy for Netflix.
This eagerly anticipated project will be produced by his uncle, the acclaimed actor Aamir Khan, through his production company, Aamir Khan Productions.
In a recent interview with India Today Digital, Imran Khan reflected on his time away from filmmaking, acknowledging that his comeback has been a gradual process.
“I don’t have a clear answer to that. It’s not for lack of trying,” Khan stated. He elaborated that he has been actively engaging with writers, directors, and producers to find a project that truly excites him.
“I guess at this point, two stories have kind of resonated with me, which I’m developing with the directors, but they’re not close to a full project yet. So, I don’t have a proper film or show that I have signed or am committed to yet,” he explained.
Khan also revealed that he is exploring two additional stories that he feels a personal connection to, although these are still in the early stages of development.
Details about the Netflix film’s release date and further information are yet to be disclosed. Imran Khan’s last film appearance was in the 2015 movie Katti Batti alongside Kangana Ranaut.
He took a hiatus from acting to focus on personal matters and address mental health challenges. His return to the screen with this new project has generated considerable excitement among fans and industry insiders alike.
