Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has requested the resignation of Javed Iqbal Bajwa, brother of former Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa, after it was discovered that his FA (Intermediate) certificate was fake.
Sources revealed that Bajwa submitted a falsified FA certificate from the Lahore Board, which, upon verification, was found to be bogus. Despite being asked to resign from his position as Deputy Station Manager in Birmingham, UK, on July 30, he initially refused.
Javed Iqbal Bajwa joined PIA in 1977 and later changed his employment status to that of a British citizen in the late 1980s after acquiring citizenship. At 73 years old, he continued to resist resignation despite the revelation about his fake certificate. However, under pressure from his family, he eventually submitted his resignation.
Sources further reported that Bajwa received favorable treatment, including financial benefits, despite his fraudulent degree. This stands in stark contrast to the treatment of other PIA employees with fake degrees, who were terminated without compensation or benefits and faced legal consequences.
On August 4, PIA issued a show-cause notice to Javed Iqbal Bajwa after confirming the inauthenticity of his intermediate certificate. He was given seven days to respond with proof of the certificate’s legitimacy.
