Congressman Tom Suozzi, recently named chair of the Congressional Pakistan Caucus, is scheduled to visit Pakistan in November.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, recently reached out to Congressman Tom Suozzi to congratulate him on his new role as chair of the Congressional Pakistan Caucus.
According to a statement from the Pakistan embassy in Washington, the two discussed enhancing Pak-US relations and exploring ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation during a phone call.
Congressman Suozzi extended his congratulations to Ambassador Saeed on his recent appointment. During their conversation, Saeed emphasized the critical importance of Pak-US relations for both nations and the broader region. He expressed optimism about the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and committed to leveraging the current goodwill to enhance multifaceted ties, particularly in economic areas.
Ambassador Saeed also thanked Suozzi for his warm wishes and congratulatory message on Pakistan’s Independence Day, celebrated on August 14.
In response, Congressman Suozzi acknowledged the contributions of the Pakistani community in fostering stronger Pakistan-US relations and their overall service to the country.
The two leaders reaffirmed their dedication to deepening Pak-US relations, promoting people-to-people connections, and bolstering the Pakistani caucus in the US Congress.
Suozzi, who has recently taken on the role of chair of the Congressional Pakistan Caucus, expressed enthusiasm about his new position. In a meeting with prominent Pakistani-American figures, he stated, “I’m excited to serve as chair of the Pakistan Caucus. I will do everything I can to build and strengthen the relationship between the United States and Pakistan.
