PTI postpones Lahore rally to September 22 in observance of Eid Milad un Nabi

PTI Reschedules Lahore Rally to September 22, Plans Islamabad Gathering for September 8

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced on Friday that it has rescheduled its Lahore rally to September 22 due to the observance of Eid Miladun Nabi.

In a statement from the PTI core committee, it was noted that the original date for the Lahore rally had been moved to accommodate celebrations of 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, honoring the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The committee emphasized the significance of celebrating this religious occasion with due reverence.

The statement also mentioned that special programs will be organized in Islamabad and other provincial capitals to mark the occasion.

Furthermore, the PTI condemned the treatment of its founding chairman by the jail administration and commended his nomination for Chancellor of Oxford University.

In addition to the Lahore rally, PTI will hold a public gathering in Islamabad on September 8. Various committees have been designated specific roles for the event.

The PTI also expressed its intention to oppose any bill in the National Assembly that conflicts with the constitution or threatens judicial independence, promising to challenge such bills in court.

The core committee raised concerns about recent election recounts in NA-181, NA-154, and NA-79, where PTI-backed candidates were reportedly defeated. Support has been directed towards Raees Hassan Mustafa for the NA-171 by-election in Rahim Yar Khan.
