Protests Erupt Following Discovery of Missing PTI Leader’s Body in Peshawar

The discovery of Yaqub Khan’s body, a missing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader, has ignited widespread protests and calls for justice across Peshawar.

Yaqub Khan, who served as the District Senior Vice President for PTI, had been reported missing for several days. His body was found in the Matni area of Peshawar, a discovery that has deeply shocked both his family and PTI supporters, according to Express Tribune.

In response to the grim discovery, Khan’s family, along with a large group of PTI supporters, gathered at the Bab-e-Khyber monument in a demonstration demanding justice. They placed Khan’s body in front of this prominent landmark, intensifying their calls for accountability and an immediate investigation into his death.

The protesters took to the streets, blocking Jamrud Bazaar Road, and vowed to maintain their demonstration until those responsible for Khan’s death are identified and arrested. Their actions reflect a broader outrage over the circumstances surrounding the incident and a pressing demand for a thorough and transparent investigation.

The protestors criticized what they perceive as insufficient efforts to protect political leaders and ensure their safety. They fear that without accountability, similar incidents may recur, undermining political stability and public trust in law enforcement.

The protests highlight the need for the authorities to act swiftly and transparently. The PTI supporters and Khan’s family are calling for a detailed investigation into the circumstances leading to his death, urging law enforcement to pursue all leads and hold accountable those responsible for this tragic event.

As the situation develops, the local community remains on high alert, with heightened security measures in place to manage the ongoing demonstrations.

The outcry for justice continues to grow, emphasizing the deep impact of Khan’s death on his supporters and the broader political landscape in Pakistan.
