OEC to dispatch English language instructors to Japan

The Overseas Employment Corporation, affiliated with the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, will be recruiting Assistant English Language Teachers for public schools in Japan.

According to an official source, Japan is urgently seeking approximately 30 Assistant English Language Teachers who meet the following criteria: a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, at least one year of teaching experience, and an age range of 24 to 45.

Both men and women are eligible to apply for these positions. The salary package can exceed 220,000 yen, with free transportation provided. The contracts are for one year, from April 7, 2025, to March 24, 2026.

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria: no criminal record, fit to work (with no transmissible diseases and a medical certificate issued within three months prior to deployment), and proof of financial reserves. Those on the Private Residence Track must show a minimum reserve of 600,000 yen after flight expenses, while those on the Shared Accommodation Track must have a minimum of 300,000 yen.

Candidates should submit their CV along with a self-introduction video (up to 3 minutes), be available for training sessions conducted by M/s Borderlink in Pakistan, and arrive in Japan by March 31, 2025. They must also be prepared to cover upfront costs for accommodation, ranging from 250,000 to 350,000 yen, and agree to share housing for at least one year from the start of employment.

Preferred qualifications include basic Japanese language skills, a local teaching certificate, and certifications such as TESOL, TOEFL, and/or CELTA. Interested candidates can apply through the OEC’s website.
