Four dead, several injured in M9 motorway collision

HYDERABAD: A tragic collision on the Karachi-Hyderabad M9 motorway has resulted in the deaths of four individuals, with several others injured, as reported on Friday.

The accident occurred near the Loni Kot area, where a passenger bus and a trailer collided. The crash led to the immediate deaths of four people and left multiple others hurt.

Rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene and transported the injured to the Noori Abadi Trauma Center for medical care. Initial investigations by the police suggest that the accident was caused by the bus driver falling asleep at the wheel. The collision also caused the trailer to overturn, leading to significant disruptions in traffic flow on the motorway.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident and directed that all necessary medical treatment be provided to those injured in the accident. This tragic event adds to a series of recent motorway accidents, highlighting ongoing safety concerns.

Earlier this month, a similar accident on the M9 Motorway resulted in the deaths of six laborers and injuries to four others. This incident occurred near Lunikot in the Jamshoro district when a mini truck collided with a trailer.

The deceased individuals from the latest accident have been identified as 28-year-old Nanji Thakur, 30-year-old Imdad Hussain Khoso, 28-year-old Amerji Kacchi, 35-year-old Ramesh Kacchi, Jetan Thakur, and Ramesh Thakur, all hailing from the Khuwaja stop area in Tando Allahyar district. Their families and the community are mourning their loss as authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
