Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team Makes History with 10-Wicket Win in Women’s T20 Asia Cup

In a historic moment for women’s cricket, Pakistan’s national team secured a record-breaking victory by 10 wickets over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the ongoing Women’s T20 Asia Cup on Tuesday. This win marks the first instance in the tournament’s history of a team achieving such a margin of victory, with previous high-margin wins capped at 9 wickets.

The Pakistan team delivered a dominant all-round performance at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. Having suffered a loss to India in their tournament opener, Pakistan’s comprehensive victory against the UAE bolstered their chances of advancing to the semi-finals, bringing their points tally to four from two wins.

Pakistan’s openers, Gull Feroza and Muneeba Ali, showcased exceptional batting skills as they successfully chased down the target of 104 runs in just 14.1 overs. Feroza scored a robust 62 off 55 deliveries, including eight boundaries, while Muneeba added 37 from 30 balls with four fours. Their unbeaten stand ensured a flawless chase, marking the first ten-wicket victory of the tournament.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and chose to field first. The UAE struggled with their batting as they lost wickets consistently. Esha Oza (16 off 26) and Theertha Satish (40 off 36) were the top contributors for the UAE, with Khushi Sharma also adding 12 runs. Pakistani bowlers Sadia Iqbal, Nashra Sandhu, and Tuba Hassan claimed two wickets each, with captain Nida Dar contributing one.

In their next fixture, Nepal will face India in Group A’s final match. For Pakistan to secure a semi-final spot, they will need India to triumph over their opponents.
