PTI plans to stage hunger strikes outside Parliament House

Today, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has announced plans for a symbolic hunger strike outside Parliament House and the Punjab Assembly.

Led by Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, PTI lawmakers will initiate the hunger strike camp, with PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and other members joining in.

Scheduled from 3pm to 7pm, the symbolic hunger strike aims to draw attention to several pressing issues. Simultaneously, the Sunni Ittehad Council has decided to organize a similar protest outside the Punjab Assembly starting July 24, echoing PTI’s stance in the federal capital.

Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly, Malik Ahmad Bachhar, stated that the decision to undertake the hunger strike was made following directives from PTI Founder Imran Khan, with consultations held with parliamentary leader Mian Aslam Iqbal.

The hunger strike camp serves as a platform to advocate for the release of PTI Founder Imran Khan, protest against the arrests of social media activists, and highlight concerns over escalating inflation.

It symbolizes PTI’s stance on these critical issues, utilizing non-violent protest as a means to express dissent and call for action.

This coordinated effort by PTI and the Sunni Ittehad Council underscores their shared commitment to civil disobedience as a form of political expression and advocacy.

By staging these hunger strikes, both parties seek to galvanize public support and bring attention to what they perceive as injustices and challenges facing Pakistan today.
