PM Vows 100% Free Medical Facilities for Deserving Patients

Free Medical Facilities

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the government’s commitment to providing state-of-the-art free healthcare services to deserving patients nationwide at the Jinnah Medical Complex in Islamabad.

He emphasized that this facility would be one of the premier medical centers in the region.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the complex, the prime minister highlighted that the facility would offer 100% free medical services.

“This is the gift of the coalition government not only for the residents of Rawalpindi and Islamabad but also for the people from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan,” he said.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif elaborated that once completed, the medical complex would provide world-class healthcare services, addressing various diseases related to the heart, kidneys, lungs, cancer, and other medical conditions.

A modern first aid emergency section will be established at the hospital, along with an air ambulance service to reach patients in remote areas.

The prime minister pledged that the complex would also include nursing schools and laboratories, ensuring deserving patients have access to 100% free lab tests.

He emphasized that this initiative aligns with the vision of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif, who envisioned a model providing free medical facilities for the poor while offering paid services to well-off individuals at the same location.

PM Shehbaz expressed gratitude to Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Chairman Sultan Ali Allana and Prince Rahim Agha Khan for their technical consultancy support provided free of charge for the project. He commended the Agha Khan Foundation for its decades-long contributions to the country.

The prime minister directed the concerned authorities to complete the project within one year. “Although one year is a challenging deadline for such a massive project, with determination and hard work, it is quite possible,” he stated, urging continuous work on the project around the clock to meet the deadline. He assured that there would be no funding issues from the government’s side.

PM Shehbaz Sharif also expressed his appreciation to Islamabad Chief Commissioner Ali Randhawa for providing land for the project, as well as the finance minister, finance secretary, and planning minister for their support.

Regarding compensation for the land-affected individuals, the prime minister instructed the provision of a one-window facility to resolve their issues promptly.

He reiterated the government’s dedication to ensuring that the Jinnah Medical Complex becomes a beacon of hope and a symbol of top-tier healthcare for all deserving citizens of Pakistan.
