PM Shehbaz
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan issued a strong condemnation of the recent attack on former US President Donald Trump during an election rally, expressing shock over the violent incident and extending wishes for Trump’s speedy recovery.
In a statement posted on social media, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reacted to the news of Trump being shot at the campaign rally, emphasizing his condemnation of all forms of political violence.
“Just learnt that former President Trump was shot at an election rally. This is a shocking development. I condemn all violence in politics,” he wrote. He went on to express his hopes for Trump’s swift recovery and good health.

The attack unfolded during a campaign event where Trump, 78, was addressing supporters. Shots were fired, injuring Trump in the ear and prompting a swift response from security agents who shielded him.
The shooter was reported dead, while one rally attendee lost their life and two others were injured, according to statements from the Secret Service and Reuters sources. The incident is under investigation as an assassination attempt.
Following the attack, Trump briefly kneeled behind the podium as he held his injured ear, before emerging again to gesture and utter words of defiance.
He was quickly ushered into a vehicle for medical attention. Later, Trump confirmed the injury on his Truth Social platform, detailing the bullet wound to his right ear and the subsequent bleeding, but reassured the public that he was recovering well.
The shooting occurred just months before the upcoming November election, where Trump is set for a rematch with Democratic President Joe Biden. Both candidates are closely contested in opinion polls, reflecting the high stakes of the election.
President Biden responded to the incident with a call for national unity against violence, stating, “There’s no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it.”
The aftermath of the attack has sparked discussions on security measures at political events and renewed debates on the safety of political figures in the United States.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s message of condemnation and well wishes adds to the global reaction to the shocking event, underscoring the international attention drawn by the attack on Trump.
