Saudi authorities have established guidelines for the Hajj pilgrimage

The Saudi government has emphasized the importance of adhering to guidelines and regulations for Muslims undertaking the Hajj pilgrimage this year.

To ensure a smooth and safe journey, it is essential to obtain a valid Hajj permit before embarking on the trip. This applies to all citizens, residents, and visitors, and failing to do so can result in significant fines and even deportation for expatriates.

The Hajj and Umrah Minister, Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, launched a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of following regulations and cooperating with authorities. The campaign, “Pilgrimage Without A Permit,” aims to educate pilgrims about the consequences of violating Hajj rules.

To avoid penalties, pilgrims must dress modestly and respectfully while at the holy sites. This includes avoiding revealing or indecent clothing, which is not only a matter of following rules but also a sign of respect for the sanctity of the occasion.

The ihram is an essential part of the Hajj and Umrah rituals, symbolizing the state of ritual consecration and equality among all pilgrims before Allah. For men, this involves wearing two unstitched, undecorated white garments, while women must wear modest, loose-fitting clothing that covers their entire body.

During the Hajj, pilgrims must follow designated routes and crowd-safety regulations outlined by the authorities. The government has also warned of severe penalties for those who attempt to bring drugs, alcohol or weapons into the holy sites.

To combat criminal activity, pilgrims are encouraged to report any suspicious activities by calling 911 in the Makkah region. The government has shut down more than 140 fake companies and warns that no one will escape punishment for violating regulations.

The director of Public Security in the region, Mohammed Al-Bassami, emphasized that every person who comes to Makkah has signed an electronic pledge that their tourism visa does not enable them to perform the Hajj.

The government urges all visitors to respect the Kingdom’s policies and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable pilgrimage.
