Pakistan and China Sign 23 MoUs to Deepen Bilateral Cooperation Across Multiple Sectors

Pakistan and China solidified their bilateral cooperation by signing 23 memoranda of understanding, covering various sectors such as transport infrastructure, industry, energy, agriculture, media, health, water, and socioeconomic development.

Following delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Beijing, both leaders emphasized the enduring strength of the Pakistan-China Strategic Cooperative Partnership, characterized by mutual trust and shared principles.

The discussions reaffirmed their commitment to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the timely completion of ongoing projects. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to ensuring the safety of Chinese personnel and projects within its borders.

Both nations agreed to maintain high-level exchanges and institutional linkages across various spheres, with a focus on bilateral and global issues, especially during Pakistan’s upcoming term as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.

During his visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged with Chinese investors to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan, encouraging them to consider joint ventures and investments in sectors like economy, green energy, textiles, and manufacturing.

The leaders also discussed the significance of Gwadar in the CPEC framework and pledged to expedite related infrastructure projects to enhance its role as a regional economic hub.

Premier Li Qiang hosted an official banquet in honor of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif following their productive discussions, further solidifying the strong ties between Pakistan and China.

The visit culminated in a reaffirmation of the deep-rooted friendship and strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, symbolizing their shared commitment to mutual development and prosperity.

Both leaders expressed optimism about the future trajectory of their bilateral relations, confident that the collaborative efforts undertaken during the visit would lead to tangible benefits for both nations. With a shared vision for regional stability and economic progress, Pakistan and China look forward to continuing their journey of cooperation and friendship in the years to come.
