Tremors from a 5.3-magnitude earthquake were felt across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and parts of northern Pakistan late Tuesday night, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) confirmed.
According to the PMD, the quake originated in Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush region at a depth of 234 kilometres.
The tremors were reported in several areas, including Peshawar, Chitral, Swat, Dir, and Malakand. No casualties or damage were immediately reported.
