ISLAMABAD: About 41 Indian-backed terrorists were killed in operations in Balochistan, ISPR said on Friday. Theย Pakistani security forces killed militants during two separate intelligence-based operations in Balochistan.
The military reaffirmed its resolve to eliminate terrorism and dismantle foreign-sponsored militant networks operating inside the country.
Operations target militant hideouts in Harnai and Panjgur
According to the ISPR statement, security forces conducted the operations on January 29 after receiving intelligence about the presence of militants linked to Indian proxies Fitna al-Khwarij and Fitna al-Hindustan. One operation took place on the outskirts of Harnai district, where forces targeted a hideout of Fitna al-Khwarij.
During the operation, troops effectively engaged the location and exchanged heavy fire with the militants. As a result, security forces killed 30 Indian-sponsored Khwarij militants. The ISPR added that forces recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the site, which they destroyed on the spot to prevent further use.
In a separate intelligence-based operation in Panjgur district, security forces busted another militant hideout. During the raid, forces neutralised 11 India-sponsored militants affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan. Officials also recovered weapons, ammunition, and looted money linked to a bank robbery carried out in Panjgur on December 15, 2025. Authorities said the killed militants had remained involved in multiple terrorist activities in the past.
Army vows continued counterterrorism drive
The ISPR said security forces had launched sanitisation operations in the affected areas to eliminate any remaining militants. The military stressed that the counterterrorism campaign under the vision โAzm-e-Istehkamโ would continue at full pace to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.
Pakistan has witnessed a rise in terrorist incidents since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in 2021. Border provinces Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have faced the brunt of these attacks.
Earlier, Director General ISPR Lt-General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the security officials conducted 75,175 intelligence-based operations in the country last year. Authorities reported 5,397 terrorism incidents in 2025, while security forces killed 2,597 terrorists in counterterror operations.
