ISLAMABAD: According to a survey conducted by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 39% of Pakistanis cite inflation as the most important problem in the country.ย ย A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the four provinces was asked the following question,ย โWhat do you think is the most important problem in Pakistan at the moment?โย

In response to this question, 39% said โincrease in inflationโ, 19% said โjoblessnessโ while 14% said โcoronavirusโ, 10% said โincrease in povertyโ, 8% said โirregularities, corruption, adulteration and nepotismโ 1% said โelectricity load sheddingโ, 4% gave other responses while 5% did not know or did not respond.
The provincial breakdown indicates inflation as the biggest problem in Balochistan with 46 percent of the survey respondents termed it a major issue. About 42 percent in Punjab, 38 percent in KP and 34 percent in Sindh termed inflation as a problem.

Meanwhile, 19% in Punjab, 14% in Sindh, 21% in KP and 32% in Balochistan cite joblessness as the biggest problem in Pakistan. 18% from Sindh cite coronavirus as the biggest problem, compared to 15% in Punjab and 13% in KP. Increase in poverty is cited as the biggest problem by 15% in KP, 14% in Balochistan, 10% in Sindh and 9% in Punjab.
