Pakistani security forces successfully neutralized 27 militants during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Kachi district on January 12, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Acting on credible intelligence about militant activity in the area, security forces surrounded a key hideout. The operation escalated into an intense firefight, resulting in the elimination of 27 militants. The ISPR confirmed that the militants killed were involved in multiple terrorist acts targeting both civilians and security personnel.
In addition to neutralizing the militants, the operation led to the destruction of several hideouts, along with a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives. The ISPR emphasized that these individuals were high-value targets actively sought by law enforcement agencies.
Meanwhile, in a separate IBO in North Waziristan, security forces engaged and killed nine militants.
The ISPR reiterated the resolve of Pakistan’s armed forces to ensure peace, stability, and development in Balochistan and other restive areas. “The forces remain steadfast in their mission to thwart any attempts to disrupt national harmony and security, working closely with the people of Pakistan,” the statement read.
The operations are part of the ongoing nationwide effort to eliminate terrorism and dismantle networks threatening the country’s peace and progress.
