In a disturbing incident, a 10-year-old girl named Inaya was abducted during a train journey from Faisalabad to Karachi after her family was drugged by fellow passengers.
According to the girl’s mother, Shagufta Bibi, the family was traveling on the Shalimar Express when they were offered lassi by unidentified individuals near Sukkur. Shortly after consuming the drink, she and her elder daughter lost consciousness.
When Shagufta regained consciousness near Karachi’s Landhi Station, she discovered that her younger daughter, Inaya, was missing—along with the suspects who had shared their train compartment.
The kidnapping took place on May 28, and a First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged at the Karachi Cantt Railway Station Police.
However, four days later, the child has yet to be found, and the family claims that police efforts to recover her have shown little progress.
This case comes shortly after another abduction incident, where a seven-year-old girl was kidnapped while playing outside her home in Gharo, Thatta. In that case, CCTV footage captured a man taking the child, prompting a district-wide search ordered by SSP Thatta Dr. Imran Niazi.
Authorities continue to investigate both cases as concern grows over the safety of children and travelers.
